The brothers had the opportunity to talk to residents who had survived the fighting in their cities. A man who was fleeing with his family told an amazing story of his salvation. While passing a checkpoint, they were stopped by the occupiers, who checked for weapons. The man got out of the car and handed the Bible to the enemy, saying, "This is our only weapon." After hearing this, the Russian took the Bible and let the family move on.  A few hours later, they learned that a shell had hit their house. This story proves once again the presence of God in our lives.

Residents told us about all the horrific events they had experienced. Families were hiding in basements for a month, going outside whenever possible to cook some food. It was very dangerous to leave the basement, because if you were caught by the enemy, you were brutally shot. A torture room for Ukrainians was set up at the train station, where people were brutally tortured. During the entire period of occupation, 251 people were killed in the city, including 2 teenagers.

Not only adults, but also children have adapted to such conditions, because most of them have long been able to distinguish between our weapons and enemy weapons. Everyone knows how to react and act in emergency situations. There is a little girl among the residents of Trostyanets, and she told us how she now collects shell fragments and puts them in her box.

On May 4, with God's help, the brothers returned home. We are grateful to all those who cared for the humanitarian aid. We are grateful to the 20th and 18th kindergartens of Boryslav for the food and pastries. We are grateful to the City Council, the Peace News mission, the Lviv Baptist Church, the First Boryslav Church and all those who care for their great contribution to this extremely important ministry.
