The second photo shows a grandmother who lives in the Lviv region. Her name is Chyryk Simeona. In her peaceful village, there is no war, no shooting, and it is safe to live there. However, her life is full of loneliness. When our volunteers from the Walking Alongside project visited her home, she was crying. Standing in the doorway, they did not understand at first what it was that caused this old woman to feel so emotional. After inviting the couple home, Simeona said, "Jesus Christ has come to me," and she cried bitterly again.

A few minutes later, she shared that she had run out of food and had nothing left but a jug of hot water. Then she prayed and asked God to help her, and after a while our volunteers knocked on her door.

Every time we visit the homes of such people, we realize that they are in desperate need of support, both material and spiritual. This woman asked us to tell her more about Jesus, and then thanked us for the food and time we had given her.
